SPR Photochemistry Volume 31 follows the same format asnits recent predecessors and provides a review of the photochemistrynliterature between July 1998 and June 1999. As Inwrite this review, it is June 2001 so, along with other reviewers,nI have to express disappointment that the volume is not asncurrent as I would like. In this electronic age I find that surprising,nespecially as the content of the volume does not generallynattempt to be critical, merely reporting what has appeared innthe literature. Having said that, I have to say that I always findnconsiderable value in the latest SPR Photochemistry volume—nnot so much for current awareness in areas of photochemistrynof immediate interest to me, but more in peripheral areas and tonmaintain a “feel” for what is happening generally across whatncan be a very disparate area of research.
