Tensions grow on eve of Albanian polls

Two Albanian officials were shot on 4 April, just weeks ahead of local elections due on 8 May. The head of the building inspectorate in the capital Tirana, Ardit Kaja, was shot and wounded early in the morning of 4 April in front of the municipality building in the central Skenderbej square.
