Satellite images captured on 29 January and 3 March of the Xian Aircraft Corporation (XAC) plant in China's Shaanxi Province indicate that XAC is producing a new variant of the Y-20 heavy transport aircraft fitted with Shenyang WS20 high-bypass turbofan engines. The images show at least one aircraft of the new variant - commonly referred to as the Y-20B -alongside several Y-20A transports and a Y-20U aerial tanker at Xian-Yanliang airfield, which is home to both XAC facilities and the China Flight Test Establishment (CFTE).
