Australia announces further upgrades to RAAF Base Tindal

Upgrades to the Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF's) Tindal airbase in Australia's Northern Territory costing AUD1.1 billion (USD748 million) were announced on 21 February by Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The upgrades are not only intended to support the stationing at Tindal, which is located some 320 km southeast of the city of Darwin, of F-35A Lightning Ⅱ Joint Strike Fighters but also to boost military ties with the United States.
