A note on understanding cycle time

Various definitions of cycle time exist in literature. In this research, we discuss a select few and focus on cycle time as the average time between successive units of output. We test this definition using two simple derivations of throughput time validated by three numerical examples. The derivations and corresponding examples make use of the readers intuition when analyzing processes described by deterministic inputs.
