This rather interesting book is focussed on compliance within a single fisheries regime in the Barents Sea. Hønneland's objective is to establish what makes all the different actors involved in the regime comply-ranging from the States involved in negotiations, down through relevant national authorities, to the individual vessel captains. In this sense it is a rather adventurous book and adds something to the literature on compliance which is seldom, if ever, found elsewhere. Most of that literature will focus on compliance at a particular level, be that at the international level focussing on compliance by States with regimes, or at the national level focussing on compliance by actors with national legislation. The book therefore has the potential to make quite a unique contribution to the literature on compliance.
