U.S. EPA to Revise Reporting Rules For Exports of Cathode Ray Tubes

The Environmental Protection Agency will revise certain export provisions on cathode ray tubes (CRTs) to enable better tracking of the waste for reuse and recycling, according to a notice to be published March 15. Under the proposed revisions, exporters would have to submit annual reports on the quantity of used CRTs exported for recycling and an estimate of the amount of CRT waste exported for reuse. EPA said the additional reporting requirements would enable proper notifica- tion of recipient countries and would ensure better management of the materials.
