First 'trailblazer' apprenticeship completed

Cementation Skanska's Spencer Taylor is the first piling apprentice in the UK to complete the government's "trailblazer" piling apprenticeship, achieving the highest grade of distinction. The two year trailblazer programme includes 65% site-based learning combined with a college placement and technical tests. The programme culminates in a seven hour practical assessment and interview to demonstrate skills, knowledge and competence. Unlike conventional piling apprenticeships, the UK Governments "trailblazer" scheme follows new employer developed standards.
