Born Digital: Understanding the First Generation of Digital Natives

Digital Natives (those born and raised in the digital age) don't actually constitute a generation (only approximately one-sixth of the world has access to digital technologies) but rather a population. DNs generally consider cyberspace to be an extension of the physical world ("digital natives almost never distinguish between the online and offline versions of themselves") and are developing their own social norms around digital culture. Creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship are highly valued, and DNs actively participate in creating and shaping their own culture. They are aware of global issues and consider themselves to be global citizens.
