Dubai is world renowned as an international trading hub, and one of the most significant facilitators of this trade is the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). This sprawling trade, manufacturing and logistics district located on 57 square kilometers adjacent to Jebel Ali Port and the cargo terminal at Dubai World Central airport is home to 6,918 companies from across the globe. In 2012 alone, more than 400 companies set up in the free zone, 26% more than in 2011.
