Great things are happening within the Avspecs hangar at Ardmore Airfield on New Zealand's North Island. Engineers, lead by Warren Denholm, are busy putting the final touches to one of the most anticipated return to flight restorations ever - rebuilding a de Havilland Mosguito. The project was acquired by the Military Aviation Museum's Jerry Yagen in 2004, and work began in earnest early the following year. The original wooden fuselage was rotten and a new one had to be constructed - it has been made to the highest standards using original techniques and material where possible. The same is true of the wings.
