Developing The Leadership Role Of The Middle Management Team

In 2006-2007the functional commandrnTeam at Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service completed a leadership programme to sustain the team's leadership integrity. In support of that high level programme, Fruitful Developments was asked to develop a programme for the middle management team, including: uniformed group managers, station managers and non-uniformed managers.rnTwo months later, following on from the success of the Step 1 workshops and incorporating feedback from the participants, we were asked to design a second workshop, which would build on the lessons from Step 1 and provide pragmatic help to the middle management team.rnSpeaking of the Bedforshire and Luton's relationship with Fruitful, Area Commander Julian Sears said: "From the start, Fruitful impressed me with the amount of work they were prepared to do to understand the specific needs of our fire and rescue service at a time of major change, helping us to clarify our purpose and prioritise and tailor the development for our middle managers.
