Internode backs global launch' for IPv6 on 6 June 2012

The Internet Society has designated 6 June 2012 as the global launch date for IPv6, by which time It expects many major web sites and equipment vendors to have permanently enabled IPv6 for their products and services. Internode has Joined a handful of global ISPs so far committed to the project. ISPs that have so said they will "have IPv6 available automatically as the normal course of business for a significant portion of their subscribers" by that date" are AT&T, Comcast, Free Telecom, Internode, KDDI, Time Warner Cable and XS4ALL (the first Dutch ISP). "ISPs participating in World IPv6 Launch will enable IPv6 for enough users so that at least one percent of their wireline residential subscribers who visit participating websites will do so using IPv6 by 6 June 20li" ISOC said.
