摘要

In this paper, the simplified method, proposed in (Combesure, 1998), for the prediction of creep buckling is compared to experimental results. The model is applied to predict the buckling time of two sets of experiments on cylinders subjected to uniform external pressure. It is shown that the proposed model is satisfactory for this type of prediction: in all cases, the times up to failure predicted by the model are generally lower than the experimental failure times. The model is rater conservative for thicker cylinders.
