By presenting the history of Buffalo National Park (BNP), which existed in east central Alberta from 1909 to 1939, and chronicling its follies, author Jennifer Brower provides a realistic caution for modern environmental policy makers. This book shows how the best of policy intentions can be undermined by poor planning, bureaucratic hubris, and inadequate financing.
