Genetic relationship between giftedness and myopia

Data from Iceland are presented which give further support to a previously documented association of near-sightedness with scholastic ability. In particular there seems to be a link between myopia and mathematical inclination. The family distribution of near-sightedness is consistent with recessive inheritance, both in randomly selected groups and in relatives of honor students.
