Investigation of the Relationship of Child-Rearing Practices and Mothers Resiliency with Anxiety and Self-Esteem of Children

The purpose of this study was to investigation of correlation between mothers'resilience and parenting method with their children's anxiety and self-esteem. Thisstudy is done by survey method. The statistical population of this study includes all ofgirl student?s school at Ramsar during 1391-92. Statistical sample in this study was 100girl students of five elementary from 2 schools (Koosar and Motahhary) that selectedwith random selection.Tools for collect data was used Baumrind ParentingMethodQuestioner for assessment of parenting methodand Resiliency Scale forassessment ofresilience of mothers; Beck Anxiety and Self-esteem (SEI) Questioner forassessment of anxiety and self-esteem of children. Conclusions show significantdifferences. The mothers that had more resilience, their children had more self-esteemand low anxiety. Children that their mothers used authoritative parenting method hadmore self-esteem and low anxiety. Children that their mothers used authoritarianparenting method had low self-esteem and more anxiety.
