Analytic geometry of the plane and mathematica

We describe the use of the program Mathematica in the analytic geometry of the plane in the rectangular coordinates. As an illustration of possible applications of this metho d we present the solutions of fifteen problems from the problem bo ok for the first class of gymnasiums in Croatia.
