A fact of life for dairy businesses around the globe is the growing need to protect the supply chain against adulteration with chemicals or added water or similar. Even though such cases of accidental or deliberate adulteration of milk are very rare in the UK, producers need to be alert to the threat and, following a recent update of the British BRC quality control standard (issue 7) they also need to put in place measures to prevent contamination of the supply chain.
