Having dramatically redefined the US ice cream market with its higher protein, lower sugar ice cream, the Halo Top brand is now also making a dramatic impact in the UK, showing that there's no shortage of consumers who prioritise permission to indulge above a clean label. Beyond the UK, the brand has Europe in its sights. Launched in the UK in January 2018, California-based Eden Creamery's Halo Top brand earned £13.1 million (€15.1 million) in retail sales in the UK in its first year, according to Nielsen data. That gives it a three per cent market share and makes it the UK's 10th largest ice cream brand. It has achieved this result with 12 flavours, all dairy ice cream, and at the end of 2018 launched four dairy-free flavours based on coconut milk.
