It is widely recognised that we currently live in the experience economy. The trends and possibilities to create and live your own personalised service experience are also affecting travellers' expectations within the tourism industry. In this vein, this book aims to offer a multi-perspective and multi-disciplinary understanding of a really topical issue namely, Quality Tourism Experiences. To achieve this, the book consolidates under one umbrella several concepts, themes, theoretical frameworks and models related to quality and tourism experiences. Multiple theoretical paradigms are effectively synthesised offering diverse interpretations and analyses of the constructs related to tourism quality experiences. Indeed, the distinctive advantage of this book is the representation and investigation of quality tourism experiences from multiple perspectives that are collaboratively developed and presented by a group of 13 international academics coming from varying disciplinary backgrounds and settings. Multiple views are effectively synthesised by advocating a social construction of the definition of quality tourism experiences. Overall, a quality tourism experience is interpreted as an individual, subjective and collective process that emanates from life experiences, social engagements and the mediation of meaning with social interactions.
