Under Assessment

The National Infrastructure Commission's (NIC) first assessment of England's waste management infrastructure covering the period 2020-2050 is to be welcomed, together with its companion report commissioned from Anthesis. While not a formal acknowledgement from our sector's lead department that England faces a waste treatment capacity shortage in the coming years if we continue moving away from landfilling and recycling more, the imprimatur of an organisation such as the NIC is the next best thing, reinforcing what frontline service providers have been saying for some time.
