A tuning technique for high-Q integrated continuous-time bandpass filters (BPFs) suitable for high-performance wireless applications is presented. The tuning scheme uses the step response of the BPF of interest to obtain observability such that direct tuning can be achieved. The tuning process is carried out by employing a successive-approximation (SA) algorithm to search for the desired center frequency of the BPF. Compensation techniques for the SA algorithm to improve the tuning time are also presented.
