Bodal Enters Farm Chemicals Business; Builds Phosphate Unit

Bodal Chemicals, a manufacturer of dyes and dye intermediates, says it has established a wholly owned subsidiary, Bodal AgroTech, to enter the farm chemical business. Bodal AgroTech plans to build a 350,000-mt/year single super phosphate plant near to Bodal's existing manufacturing facilities at Padra, India with an investment of about Rs310 million. Bodal says it has also recently commissioned its 12,000 mt/year dyes manufacturing plant at Padra, increasing its total manufacturing capacity of dyes to 17,000 mt/year. Bodal's range of dye intermediates and dyestuffs are used mainly as raw materials in textile, leather, and paper.
