Bodal Enters Farm Chemicals Business; Builds Phosphate Unit

Bodal Chemicals (Ahmedabad, India), a manufacturer of dyes and dye intermediates, says it has established a wholly owned subsidiary, Bodal AgroTech, to enter the farm chemical business. Bodal AgroTech plans to build a 350,000-m.t./ year single super phosphate plant near to Bodal's existing manufacturing facilities at Padra, India with an investment of about Rs310 million ($7 million). Bodal manufactures dyes and dye intermediates, and sulfuric acid at the Padra site. The 650-m.t./day sul- furic acid plant was opened last July.
