New Soar marina blocked

An appeal against Nottinghamshire Council's failure to approve plans which would have seen a huge new marina created at Redhill on the River Soar has been rejected by a Planning Inspector, on the grounds that it would be inappropriate use of green belt land. Proposals were submitted three years ago for a 553-berth site adjacent to the existing Redhill Marina, plus a 244-space car park, associated buildings, and the commercial extraction of sand and gravel to create the mooring basin.
