Your article entitled "Oops, Wrong Airport" (January 2108) was excellent and very informative. Landing at the wrong airport or right airport wrong runway has been high on my "do not do" list for 32 yr. of major airline flying of which 24 yr. have been as a captain. One of the things I began doing many years ago was to put the airport identifier (e.g. KOMA) into the fix page of the FMS at the top of descent. With a moving map NAV display and an extended runway centerline you have a great situational awareness picture. With no NAV display map you still have distance so if the distance indicates 6 nm and visually you see about 2 nm something is wrong. If all you have available to use is DME on the field then use that.
