Green light for Albany expansion

Western Australia's port at Albany will triple its throughput when Grange Resources' Southdown Iron Ore Project comes to expected realisation in the next five years. After a five-year environmental assessment process Albany Port Authority's expansion proposal has received state approval under WA's Environmental Protection Act, 1986. This follows consideration of the Environmental Protection Authority's recommendations and appeals lodged during a public appeals process. The relevant minister has issued a set of legally binding environmental conditions that APA must achieve if the project proceeds.
