Pork Farms buys Kerry's savoury pastry plants

Pork Farms has acquired Kerry Foods' chilled savoury pastry factories in Poole and Spalding for an undisclosed sum. The buy-up includes Kerry Foods' manufacturing, warehouse and back office supports at the Spalding and Poole sites. It also allows Pork Farms to make Kerry Foods' Wall's and Millers savoury pastry brands under licence. The company said the acquisition would "provide Pork Farms Group customers with a streamlined, more responsive and better invested supply chain, reflecting the increasingly competitive retail landscape that the company is seeing in today's market as consumers' shopping habits change".
