The Japanese have a special beef called Kobe. Kobe cattle are massaged with sake and are fed a daily diet that includes large amounts of beer. The result: extraordinarily tender, finely marbled and delicious stake that can fetch up to $100 per pound in some restaurants. Building a successful brand is tough work and maintaining it requires the same amount of love, especially if you are 'branding' it as a premium product with an edge, says Nargess Shahmanesh-Banks.
