There are countless tasks that our brains perform throughout an average day that we just take for granted. Take, for example, reading this sentence: your eyes essentially photograph the page and relay it to the brain which processes the image -distinguishing between letters and other superfluous details -leading you not only to see the words but to understand them. While seeming a relatively mundane task for the brain, on reflection it is actually a complex one that is carried out successfully many times.
