As deputy president of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a member of Council and former chairman of the Automobile Division Jim McKnight is a very well known face in the corridors of power at the Institution's Westminster office in Birdcage Walk. What is perhaps not quite so well known is that he is also chairman of the company that not only produces a tremendous number of books, journals and proceedings a year, but also the magazines including Professional Engineering and Automotive Engineer. Taken together they contribute over a million pounds a year to the IMechE every year.
