Army Combat Uniforms

I enjoyed the articles about the 65th anniversary of D-Day in the August issue of ARMY Magazine. The articles were well written and the pictures interesting. What was not good was seeing so many U.S. soldiers attired in Army combat uniforms (ACUs) for a significant event that calls for more formal attire. I went to the 40th and 50th anniversaries of D-Day and was very impressed with the dress and decorum of the troops who supported those important events, both of which were attended by Presidents. All the troopsrnwho paraded and made ceremonial appearances then were dressed in freshly pressed "greens," shined shoes or boots, and colorful medals and ribbons. They looked great.
