The company has facilities all over the world so a mechanical engineer in Derby could easily be expected to liaise with colleagues as far afield as India, Korea and North America. The global nature of today's marketplace is not wasted on Dr Ahmed Kovacevic, senior lecturer in mechanical engineering at The City University in London. His course contains a scheme that brings together students from universities in five different countries, collaborating to carry out a design project for an industrial partner. Kovacevic feels that the European Global Product Realisation (EGPR) scheme is an excellent way of helping undergraduate students prepare to work in teams that can be based anywhere in the world.
