CBP Retires Citation Interceptors

US CUSTOMS and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations has retired the last of its specially configured Cessna 550 Citation lis. The final flight by CBP pilots in the type occurred on November 14, terminating at Houston, Dallas. At the time of going to press, the four remaining aircraft were due to be sold at auction by the end of 2019. The Citation lis were acquired from the 1980s onwards as part of the 'War on Drugs! to counter flights smuggling narcotics directly into the United States from neighbouring countries.
