The consequences of the traumatic death of an organizational member can have several effects on the organization, work groups, and individuals. Loss, grief, and bereavement for such an event often negatively interfere with the organization's effectiveness, obstruct interpersonal relationships, and increase negative cognitive responses. An increased understanding of loss, grief, and bereavement can help HRD professionals to prepare organizations for traumatic death, assist their members with the bereavement process and, therefore, get on with their work.
