Clinical trials methodology: a new training programme for clinical trials investigators and sub-investigators

The establishment of a Clinical Trials Centre at the University of Hong Kong in 1997 The Clinical Trials Centre is a new venture that aims to co-ordinate and support clinical trials in Hong Kong and throughout the region. The Centre will advise on the preparation of protocols, particularly design, focusing on the statistical requirements, budgeting and writing. The Centre will also monitor trials, to ensure accurate collection and reporting of data, compliance with protocol requirements, etc, as well as assist with data analysis and preparation of the final report. One major activity of the Centre is to educate all staff involved, or potentially involved, in performing clinical research. This is achieved by providing courses on various aspects of clinical trials research methodology.
