牺牲、重生与救赎——解读《纳尼亚传奇：狮子、女巫和魔衣柜》中的基督教教义

摘要

英国小说家C.S.路易斯（C.S.Lewis）的经典奇幻小说《纳尼亚传奇》（The Chronicles of Narnia）为英美儿童文学中的经典之作。在20世纪50年代陆续出版后,随即掀起世界范围内的儿童文学的阅读狂潮。即便到了21世纪,其魅力随着纳尼亚传奇系列电影的发行和上映有增无减。除去小说本身的富于想象力的文学魅力不说,笔者认为《纳尼亚传奇》不仅仅是奇幻小说,它更承载了丰富的基督教教义。尽管基督教题材出于宗教的原因,本身显得沉重而严肃,但C.S.路易斯以易于儿童读者接受的方式,潜移默化地向他们传递了基督教教义。本文挑选《纳尼亚传奇》系列小说中的一册《纳尼亚传奇：狮子、女巫和魔衣柜》来解读小说承载的基督教教义：自我牺牲（self-sacrifice）、重生（resurrection）和救赎（redemption）。%This essay discusses the presence of Christian mess- ages in ＂The Lion,the Witch and the Wardrobe＂.It demonstrates that although ＂The Lion,the Witch and the Wardrobe＂ carries with Christian messages and values,the messages have been succes- sfully conveyed by C.S.Lewis in a more palatable and accessible way to the child readers.Focusing on Asian,the lion as a Christ- like figure,Edmund,the Judas-like figure,the White Witch as a satanic character, and Mr.Tumnus,the Faun, a charming, talking animal with a strong personality, the essay explores the Christ- ian messages of self--sacrifice, resurrection and redemption in ＇The Lion,the Witch and the Wardrobe＂.
