独立学院大学英语口语教学模式探究

     

摘要

College English teaching of independent colleges has its features. It is very essential to reform the traditional teaching model, including changing course design and adopting graded teaching, so as to improve students’oral English proficiency. Most importantly, teachers are supposed to choose different speaking activities for students at different levels. As for students of level C, most of whom major in Art, usually with low English proficiency, the principle of designing their speaking activities is“focusing on basics plus activities with creativity”;for students of level B who are not well motivated in English learning,“diversity of activity plus retelling”can be used;speech and debate are proper methods for students of Level A to improve their oral English proficiency.%独立学院的大学英语口语教学有其特殊性。为了切实有效提高独立学院学生英语口语应用能力,现尝试对原有教学模式进行改革。主要包括:调整课程设置并采取分级教学的模式。其中,最更为重要的是设计适合不同层次英语水平学生的口语活动。对于基础较薄弱的C级学生(主要是艺术专业),设计口语活动的主要原则是“加强基础与趣味性和创意性并存”;对于有一定英语基础,但缺乏学习动机的B级学生可采取“多样性+重点训练(口头复述)”的方法;演讲和辩论是A级学生主要的训练方法。
