As a principal means of promoting tourism, the translation of tourism materials plays an important role in attracting over-sea visitors. The thesis is designed to study Chinese to English translation of scenic spot names from the perspective of Skopostheo-rie, focusing on how to create a translated text that is accessible to the target readers and that can achieve the expected translation purpose.
