Reading is crucial in language acquisition, and much research has been done on reading fluency in L1 reading. On the contrary, the body of related research in L2 reading is still limited, particularly on the effect of its oral reading fluency. In order to gain an insight into this issue, first, some relevant literature so far is reviewed to display how the research developed on this filed. Then, another point comes to some main constraints on the effectiveness of oral reading in L2 reading class. In addition, with refer-ence to related literature, some useful suggestions are provided so as to achieve more effective oral reading fluency in L 2 reading class. However, there is no argument that, at present, it remains difficult to solve some problems in the wide effective implementa-tion of oral reading fluency in L2 reading class. Therefore, more future research needs to be conducted to contribute to this filed.
