Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are courses delivered in an online environment with several features that are dif?ferent from previous approaches to online education. The effectiveness of MOOCs is an open question because completion rates are substantially less than traditional online education courses and online courses'quality varies. The aim of this study is to identify an available way to evaluate a MOOC and give some suggestions to improve it. This study attempts to evaluate a MOOC, Learning Eng-lish for Academic Purpose by using the judgmental perspective suggested by Chapelle (2001). It proves the operability of Chapelle's evaluation framework even in a MOOC environment. And through the evaluation, it is found that this course is useful and has great language learning potential. Meanwhile, it also has some drawbacks, such as, lack of consideration about individual differences, poor test feedback and so on.
