A city is composed of billions of interacting factors that form a complex system. Parametric design method can be very useful in settling urban design problems because it can build a rnodel of the complex interactions inside an urban system. In the year 2011, the theme of the joint architectural design studio of postgraduate students of Tsinghua , Princeton and Tokyo University is the micro-city near Haneda Airport in Tokyo Bay. Tsinghua students develop their design using, parametric design method,and try to simulate the growth and evolption of urban forms in a bottom-up way. Finally three uucsuts' projects are introduced to demonstrate the achievements in this studio on parametric^iriaan design.%城市是一个典型的复杂系统.因而,以当代计算机技术为基础,并受到复杂系统理论深刻影响的参数化设计方法对于城市问题有着良好的试用性.2011年,清华大学、普林斯顿大学、东京大学三校研究生联合设计课程,以日本东京湾羽田机场微观城市为题展开研究型设计,在此课程中,清华大学的研究出发点:①经典的理想城市的规划思想;②利用参数化设计方法对城市形态发展过程进行自下而上的模拟和生成,并通过三个学生的作业,展示本次究型设计课程的成果.
