The grey degree is increasing in the calculation of Universal generating function based on the interval grey number. This paper decomposed interval grey number into two parts, white and grey, then the universal generating function of element is de-scribed by white and grey parts, the universal generating function of multi-state system is calculated by the structure operator of the element. According the performance level of system, the reliability can be get. Final y, example analysis demonstrates the interval of reliability calculated by improved method is smal er than the traditional method. This method can effectively suppress the increasing of grey degree.%针对传统的基于区间灰数的通用生成函数在可靠度计算过程中会造成灰度增加的情况,首先将区间灰数分解成基于实数形式的“白部”和“灰部”2个部分,然后将元件的通用生成函数采用“白部”和“灰部”的形式来描述,通过元件间的结构算子进行运算,得到多状态系统的通用生成函数,根据多状态系统的性能水平,得到多状态系统的可靠度区间,最后通过算例计算得到的可靠度区间比用传统的区间灰数直接计算所得到的区间小,说明该方法可以有效地抑制灰度的增加。
