《哲学概论》为唐君毅于1974年出版的专著，初衷为哲学教科书而作，但绝非简单的教科书式写法。该书述及伦理学较少，于价值论着墨甚多。唐君毅由易而难，陈述价值论之存在地位之各种说法，层层推进，以儒家致中和之价值论为归趋；明辨价值之本末与选择之原则，提出“心灵、生命、物质”之价值等差原则；最终落实于人道之实践功夫。《哲学概论》体现了唐先生要旨，显示出中国儒家思想的独特洞见。%An Introduction to Philosophy is a monograph of Tang Junyi’ s published in 1974. Although the book was originally meant to be used as a textbook, it didn’ t follow the set models of a textbook. The book dabbled only a bit in ethnics, while more attention was given to axiology. Proceeding from the shallower to the deeper, Tang Junyi expounded different ideas on the existence and status of axiology until it ended with the Confucian axi-ology of“Zhizhonghe”;he also discriminated the important values from those unimportant and advanced the prin-ciples upon personal selection of values, placing in descending orders the value of mind, life and substance;and finally, the book stated the importance of practice. An Introduction to Philosophy offered a comprehension over-view of Mr Tang’ s ideas on axiology, providing an insight into the key ideas of Chinese Confucianism.
