Objective To discuss the clinical characteristics and diagnosis of femoroacetabular impingement ( FAI ) as a cause of hip pain in young adults aged 18-40 years. Methods 52 patients with FAI as the etiology of chronic hip pain were reviewed. The common symptoms, physical examination, and radiographic findings were analyzed. Results There were 12 males and 40 females. The most common symptom reported in patients with FAI was groin pain. The anterior impingement test was positive in 98. 1% ( 51/52 ) of the patients. Significant decreases in flexion and limited internal rotation motion were observed in the symptomatic sides compared to asymptomatic sides ( P <0. 05 ). 9. 6% ( 5/52 ) were cam type impingement. 42. 3% ( 22/52 ) were pincer type impingement. 48. 1% ( 25/52 ) were mixed type of cam and pincer impingement. The rate of misdiagnosis was 76. 9% ( 40/52 ). Conclusion FAI is more common in female young adult. The main symptom of FAI is groin pain. Early diagnosis and early treatment is important in the prevention of osteo-arthritis.%目的 探讨18～40岁青年髋臼撞击综合征(FAI)患者的临床特点.方法 回顾性分析52例FAI患者的病史、体格检查和影像学资料特点.结果 男性12例,女性40例.最常见的症状是腹股沟区疼痛,98.1%(51/52)的患者股骨髋臼撞击试验阳性.患侧被动曲髋及内旋角度较健侧小(P<0.05).9.6%(5/52)的患者为凸轮撞击型,42.3%(22/52)的患者为钳夹撞击型,48.1%(25/52)的患者为混合型.误诊率为76.9%(40/52).结论 青年FAI患者以女性多见,主要症状是腹股沟区疼痛.早期诊断和治疗对防止骨性关节炎的发生具有重要意义.
