In Qu's poems, he sometimes went back to the ancient times, sometimes probed into the reality, by which he expressed his patriotic feelings for country, citizens, and his loyalty to his emperor. His poems represented the conception of nobility and solemn sadness. Qu Yuan' s Lisao' s essence was taken up and refined to an unparalleled stage by Du Fu to form his nobility and solemn styles.
