皖西有着悠久的历史和厚重的文化，其民间文学遗产丰富独特，影响深远。随着社会的发展和人们思想观念、生活状况的改变，这些文化遗产有很多已经淡出或正在淡出人们的文化视野，面临失传的危险。在党的十七届六中全会《深化文化体制改革推动社会主义文化大发展大繁荣若干重大问题的决定》颁布并实施的今天，保护和开发皖西民间文学遗产，已是迫在眉睫的重要任务。地方政府和有识之士应加紧研究，并采取妥善措施，加以科学保护、合理开发、长久传承，并务求实效，以使皖西民间文学遗产能够取得应有的地位，发挥应有的作用。%There is a long history and rich culture in the west part of Anhui. The folk literary heritage here is ample and unique with far-reaching influences. With the development of society and the changes of people's living condition and thoughts, many of these cultural heritages have faded away or are fading away from our cultural perspective, and encounter the danger of disappear- ance. With the promulgation and implementation of the Decisions on Certain Major Issues of Deepening the Refoml of Cultural System and Promoting the Development and Prosperity of Socialist Culture presented in the 6th plenary conference of 17th ses- sion, it is of urgent importance to protect and exploit West Anhui folk literary heritage. Local government and far-sighted person- ages should step up research and take appropriate measures. Scientific protection, reasonable development, long-term inheritance and actual effect are needed to make West Anhui folk literary heritage obtain deserved status and play its proper roles in society,
