The Ancient Greek early Cynics is one of the earliest philosophic factions to study the free-dom. Freedom is the core of their philosophic thought. Cynicism's understanding of freedom is ground-breaking, which has a profound and lasting influence on the later ages. Combining the historical back-ground of the Cynicism's emergence, we can restore the image of Cynic filled with life tension. Cynic image seems contradictory, but in the essence he is freedom.%古希腊早期犬儒学派是人类最早对自由问题进行研究、思考的哲学派别之一，自由是他们哲学思想的核心。犬儒学派对自由问题的理解、探寻极具开创性，对后世产生了深远的影响。结合犬儒学派产生的时代背景，可以在客观、中肯的追溯中，还原富有生命张力的犬儒形象，即看似矛盾而实质是自由的人的具象。
