武侠小说作为中国独有的文化现象，是包含于中国主流文化发展的框架下的。它继承了深厚的文化传统，但其发展又随着时代变迁而产生新的内涵。作为一种类型文学，武侠小说极有利于借鉴欧洲结构主义叙事理论尤其是普洛普的叙事学去阐释其内在的基本叙事语法。同时，武侠小说历时发展中的不断推移、演进又导致了叙事策略与整体结构的相应变动。而它运转的驱动力则是时代因素的变化与侠文化本身的演变。所以，语法、形态、历史、文化的解读应成为武侠小说阐释的基本手段与方法。在此基础上，方能寻找到“武侠”作为一种叙事类型所具有的普遍而特殊的规律与内涵。%As a unique phenomenon in Chinese culture-the martial arts novel is involved in the framework of the development of the mainstream culture. On the one hand, it inherits the profound Chinese cultural tradition. On the other hand, it generates new connotations along with the evolvement of the age. Since the Chinese martial arts novel is easy to understand and liked by the general public, and commonly represented as a kind of literary genre, it＇s quite suitable to illustrate the narrative grammar of the Chinese martial arts novel with the narrative theory of European Strueturalism, especially with V. Propp＇s Tale Theory. In the meantime, the vicissitudes of ages and the evolvement of Swordsman culture leads to the changes of the narrative and structure in the Chinese martial arts novel. In this way, grammar, form, history, and culture are qualified to illustrate the martial arts novel and thus we can find the regular pattern and connotations of a kind of narrative genre which the Chinese martial arts novel
